How to disable Flash on all browsers
The goal of this guide is to disable (but not uninstall) Flash on all popular browsers.
Disable Flash on Internet Explorer (Windows)
Click on the gear icon at the top right and from there select Manage add-ons.
Look for the Shockwave Flash Object entry in the panel that appears, right click on it and select disable.
You can reactivate Flash at any time by following the same procedure
Disable Flash on Microsoft Edge (Windows)
Click on the Menu button at the top right (the one marked by three horizontal dots), then on Settings and, from the new panel, go down until you find the View Advanced Settings button. Click on it.
Look for "Use Adobe Flash Player" in the next panel and move the corresponding switch to "Disabled".
You can reactivate Flash at any time using the same procedure.
Disable Flash on Mozilla Firefox (Windows, Linux, Mac)
Click on the Firefox Menu button (the three horizontal lines) and select Add-ons.
From there, click on Plugins from the left side of the window and look for the Shockwave Flash entry. At this point you can proceed in two different ways: the first is to permanently deactivate the plugin by moving the drop-down to "Never activate", the second is to use the Ask item before activating.
Our advice is to follow this last path: in this way, every time a site will incorporate Flash content, it will be sufficient to click on the content itself to activate it, otherwise the plugin will remain inactive and will not perform any operation.
It will however be possible to restore the default behavior of Flash (always active) following the same procedure.
Disable Flash on Google Chrome (Windows, Linux, Mac, Chrome OS)
Go to chrome: // plugins directly from the Google Chrome browser and, from there, look for the Adobe Flash Player entry and click on Disable.
As the notification message suggests in correspondence with a Flash content on a page, it will be possible to reactivate it at any time by following the same procedure.
Disable Flash on Safari (OS X)
Click on the Safari Menu button and, from there, select the "Preferences" item.
From the new panel go to the Security tab that can be selected via the icon at the top, look for the Adobe Flash Player item on the left side of the panel and, from the drop-down menu at the bottom right, select Disable to disable the plugin or Ask to use the mechanism click -to-activate already seen in Firefox and Chrome. The plugin can be reactivated at any time by following the same procedure.
